An ING Run For Something Better (ING RFSB) kick-off event - another staple of ING's running event sponsorship strategy in many cities - was held at historic Franklin Field Thursday before the Sunday distance race. More than 1,000 aspiring runners from the School District of Philadelphia participated in the event, and many were guided and assisted by ING employee volunteers. Every child who participated earned an ING orange T-shirt commemorating the 2009 event.

"It was quite an experience," said ING employee Kristen Detwiler, who volunteered at the ING RFSB event. "It felt good to know that most of those kids appreciated what everyone did to organize the event," she added. ING's Lonnie Hopper reported that more than 100 Philadelphia- and Delaware-area employees volunteered for ING RFSB and the distance run.
